U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor, Chief Justice Bender, Governor Hickenlooper to speak
The Colorado Judicial Branch will live stream the public dedication celebration of the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center on May 2, 2013, at 1:30 p.m.
United States Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael L. Bender and Governor John Hickenlooper are all scheduled to speak. Current and past members of Colorado’s Judicial, Executive and Legislative branches, as well as current and former members of Congress and the Federal judiciary, and leaders of Colorado’s legal community will be in attendance.

A total of 300 tickets have been earmarked for the general public for the dedication of the Ralph Carr Judicial Center. Public tickets are free and will be available online beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013. The public may register for tickets to the dedication celebration beginning Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 8 a.m. by visiting http://www.courts.state.co.us/sotomayorevent/. Tickets will be issued first-come, first-served with one ticket per registration. Tickets will not be available on the day of the dedication celebration.
All visitors to the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center are required to clear security screening. Ticketholders must arrive no later than 12 p.m. (noon) on May 2. The main entrance to the courthouse is located at 2 E. 14th Ave., Denver, CO 80203.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor will be in Denver on May 2, 2013, to join the Colorado Judicial Branch as it formally dedicates the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center at 1:30 p.m. Justice Sotomayor is the 111th Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, its first Hispanic justice, and its third female justice. She was sworn in on Aug. 8, 2009.
As part of the May 2 dedication celebration, the Judicial Branch will also unveil its 3,800 square-foot interactive learning center. Open to the public beginning May 2, and free of charge, the learning center will feature interactive exhibits designed for people to learn more about the Colorado and Federal court systems and the rule of law.
